PHOENIX — Another food chain is coming to the Valley.
Blast & Brew, a build-your-own pizza chain, is expected to open its first Arizona location in Tempe. The chain will open at least three locations in the Phoenix area over the next three years.
According to the Phoenix Business Journal, there is no set opening date for the Tempe location, but a spokesperson said it will be built around Arizona State University’s main campus.
It is expected to be as big as 3,500 square feet and create about 40 jobs.
The chain will be brought to the Valley thanks to a franchise deal with Parish and Sunil Patel, who said they were attracted to the concept “after learning about the business model.”
“What sealed the deal for us, though, was that first bite of pizza — it is evident that the company has spent over 50 years perfecting its recipes,” Parish Patel said.
This will not be the first build-your-own pizza chain in the Valley — or even Tempe. The city is already home to similar restaurants, such as Blaze Pizza and Fired Pie.
The company announced last year that it wants to open up to 15 restaurants in the Valley and the Patels said they are “actively searching” for other locations to build the other Blast & Brew restaurants.
