PHOENIX — The holiday season is officially in swing, but if you are still struggling to get the perfect gifts for your loved ones, you could find relief in one Arizona town.
Flagstaff was recently ranked as one of the coolest towns in the nation to do your holiday shopping, according to Budget Travel.
The northern Arizona town was included among the top five cities due to its Holiday Shopping Passport, which allows shoppers to be rewarded with gift cards and other prizes simply by shopping at independent businesses.

The passport program requires shoppers to spend money at least five of the 15 participating businesses — or a total of $250 — to be entered to win prizes that range from $25 to $300 in value. Winners are announced on Jan. 8.
The publication called the program “an appealing idea for nudging holiday shoppers to discover the bounty that local shops have to offer.”
And if you are looking to have some fun once the shopping is all said and done, northern Arizona is a great place to hit the snow, hop on a sleigh ride through Coconino National Forest or even sit down for a showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Tranzend Studio.
For those who are itching to travel outside of the state to do some holiday shopping, the other small towns on Budget Travel’s list were Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Muskogee, Oklahoma; Missoula, Montana and Bowling Green, Kentucky.
