PHOENIX – The city of Scottsdale is now fully into the Christmas spirit, as the “Scottsdazzle” holiday celebration kicked off Saturday.
The celebration features art, singing, shopping and more. There’s even giant sculptures near the canal.
“Prismatica [are] these large glowing statues … that change colors,” said city spokeswoman Susie Timm. “They’re from Canada; they’re so beautiful.”
The rotation of the prisms also triggers variable-intensity bell music. Other art to see includes Reflection Rising by Poetic Kinetics.
“It looks like a gigantic kite made of thousands and thousands of pieces of fluttering plastic,” Timm said. The piece is suspended over the canal and it’s meant to remind people of nature moving around them.
The extravaganza includes Canal Concerts – every Saturday night from Dec. 2 to Dec. 23. There will also be a wine tasting with the Scottsdale Wine Trail wineries on Dec. 2, as well as a life-size menorah and holiday décor in baskets.
“Scottsdazzle” runs through December 25th.
