PHOENIX — Chain grocer Trader Joe’s has recalled several packaged salads after a supplier said there could be pieces of glass or hard plastic inside.
The salads were sold in Arizona and 11 other states.
The California-based company announced on its website Saturday that containers of white meat chicken salad, curried white chicken deli salad and turkey cranberry apple salad had use-by dates from Nov. 10 to Nov. 21.
The products also had labels with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s “inspected” code P-40299.
In Arizona, the turkey cranberry salads were being recalled.
All the salads in question were pulled from stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and Washington.
Trader Joe’s apologized, warned shoppers not to eat the salad and said products with other “inspected” codes were not affected because they were created at separate facilities.
Customers can return the salads for a refund.
