Northern Arizona police department searching for misplaced handgun

PHOENIX — A northern Arizona police department is asking the public to be on the lookout for a handgun that was misplaced by the police chief earlier this month.

According to a press release, the Prescott Valley Chief of Police Bryan Jarrell left his handgun in a restroom stall at the Prescott Valley Public Library around 6 p.m. on Nov. 9.
The department said Jarrell was changing clothes after a town council meeting when he “inadvertently left his department-issued firearm in the restroom stall and left.”
Jarrell did not notice the weapon was missing until four days later and immediately reported it.
The handgun is described as a Glock 19 that is .9mm in caliber and black in color. The serial number is YHC 944.
