KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. Stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.

• The Navajo Nation is getting more than $8 million for asthma care. The grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute will bring two programs to an area where asthma rates are two to three times higher than in the general population.

Old Chicago Pizza and Taproom plans to expand in the Valley. The Phoenix Business Journal reports the Colorado-based chain has signed a deal to open 11 more locations in the U.S., including Phoenix. The restaurant already has sites in Glendale and Mesa.

• Jobs in banking, car rental, education and real estate investment are available at a job fair Wednesday in the East Valley. The hiring event runs from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Mesa Convention Center near Center Street and University Drive.
