PHOENIX — While getting out of town for a trip sounds nice, it can often times be out of budget. But luckily for you, one of the most beautiful hotels in the nation can be found right here in Arizona.
The Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa was recently ranked as the most beautiful hotel in the state by Architectural Digest — and by looking at photos of the place, it’s easy to see why.
The Sanctuary is a 53-acre property located at the base of Camelback Mountain near McDonald Drive and Scottsdale Road in Paradise Valley.
The resort underwent a $2 million, two year renovation on its casitas and suites that was completed in February, according to The Phoenix Business Journal.
The renovations included redesigning 16 of the casitas and suites into “Camelback” rooms, which were selected and renovated based on their views.
These renovations are among the factors that Architectural Digest used to classify it as “the relaxing getaway of your dreams.”
Among the amenities in the hotel are lava rock fireplaces, butler service, soaking tubs and canopied daybeds. Guests can also dip in the pool and get a bite to eat at the on-site restaurant with executive chef Beau MacMillan.
But the “most beautiful” accolade was not the only award given to The Sanctuary: The hotel was also recently named as the best boutique property in the Southwest.
And for Arizonans who are still looking to get out of the state but still want to stay somewhere beautiful, the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, California, and The Lodge at Lake Tahoe in Nevada also made the list of “most beautiful” hotels.
