PHOENIX – The next time you are on a road trip, you might want to make sure Monument Valley is included in your route.
The landmark was recently featured as one of the best sites to see from your car by MSN.com.
The three red mesas that have been featured in numerous photographs and movies only touch the surface that the surrounding area has to offer.
Nestled inside the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park is a vast desert landscape that is mostly obscured by cliffs when viewing from the road.
Visitors can enter the park for $20 per vehicle, which features a 17-mile long dirt road that takes leads to the totem pole rock formation.
Monument Valley is located about five hours north of Phoenix in northeastern Arizona.
The park lies 26 miles north of Kayenta, Arizona, off of U.S. route 163 along the border of Arizona and Utah.
