TIME names Ebola fighters Person of Year 2014

The health workers fighting an epidemic that is ravaging West African countries have been named TIME’s Person of the Year for 2014, it was announced Wednesday.

The group battling Ebola “risked and persisted, sacrificed and saved,” the magazine wrote.
The Ferguson protesters were runner-up, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin was third, Massoud Barzani, president of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region was fourth and Chinese entrepreneur Jack Ma was fifth.
The annual issue dedicated to the most influential person or persons, an entity, an idea or a thing that has an impact, whether positive or negative.
