Main Street Minute: Golf ball drop proceeds to go to PCH

• A local golf course is raising money for Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Troon’s Helicopter Golf Ball Drop takes place Nov. 17 at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale. Participants can buy a golf ball for $10 and drop it from a copter. The ball that goes into the hole or comes closest to the pin wins $1,000 for its “dropper.” Proceeds will go to the hospital.
• Furnishings retailer At Home has opened a store in Gilbert near Williams Field Road and Val Vista Drive, the Phoenix Business Journal reports. It’s the chain’s fifth site in the Valley.
• There are a pair of big job fairs Monday. Quicken Loans, Aramark and State Farm will be among the companies on hand at the Phoenix Hilton Airport near 48th Street and University Drive from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. There’s also a hiring event at the Tempe Center for the Arts near Rio Salado Parkway and Priest Drive featuring some top companies. It runs from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
