PHOENIX — Officials have found a body at Grand Canyon National Park that they believe to be of a man who went missing last month, the National Park Service announced Monday.
The department said the body of a Caucasian male was found on a trail below the South Rim at the park on Friday. They believe the body is of 39-year-old Michael Legus, who was reporting missing by a friend on Oct. 31.
He was last seen at Mather Point on the South Rim of the canyon.
Legus, a Tooele, Utah, native, was described as a 6-foot-tall, 230-pound white male with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue Levi’s jeans.
The National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner are conducting an investigation.
