PHOENIX — An Arizona resident was arrested for allegedly murdering his ex-wife in California, according to the Ontario Police Department.

Dalen Ware, a resident of Laveen, Arizona, was arrested at his home on Oct. 13 for the murder of his ex-wife, Julia Jacobson.

Jacobson was first reported missing in San Diego in September.

An investigation launched by the San Diego Police Department led authorities to Ontario, a California city that is about 115 miles north of San Diego and about 40 miles east of Los Angeles.

The investigation was then turned over to the Ontario Police Department. Authorities concluded that Jacobson was murdered after conducting “additional investigative actions,” including an analysis of her car.

Shortly after, an arrest warrant was issued for Ware and authorities from the Phoenix Police Department and the FBI’s Arizona Violent Crimes Task Force unit arrested him in his Laveen home.

Police said Ware will be transferred to the San Bernardino County West Valley Detention Center this week, where he will be booked for murder.

Authorities have still not found Jacobson’s body. Jacobson was also with her dog, Boogie, when she went missing and police have not been able to find it either.

Jacobson is described as a 5-foot, 7-inch-tall white woman with blonde hair and brown eyes. Boogie is a 42-pound Wheaton Terrier.

In a Facebook post, several of Jacobson’s family members called Ware’s arrest “the beginning of a journey of healing that will continue for the foreseeable future as we continue to seek answers in her disappearance.”

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Ontario Police Department at 909-986-6711 or submit a tip anonymously by calling 800-78-CRIME or posting online.

We want to hear from you.
