Car accident causes 10-mile backup on Interstate 17 north of Phoenix

PHOENIX — A car accident has caused a 10-mile backup on the Interstate 17 southbound near Black Canyon City, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Transportation officials said all of the lanes of the I-17 are open from the crash. Drivers are encouraged to use an altrnative route, delay travel or allow themselves extra travel time.

According to the Unusual Traffic PHX, the backup added nearly half an hour of travel time for drivers.
