PHOENIX — The Arizona State Fair kicks off on Friday, which is expected to snarl traffic near downtown Phoenix. But fair-goers should not have to worry about any traffic caused by highway closures.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the westbound Loop 101 ramp to the southbound State Route 51 will be closed from 9 p.m. on Friday to 11 p.m. on Saturday for resurfacing. The HOV-lane ramp will remain open.

Both the east- and westbound Interstate 10 ramps to the northbound Loop 303 will be closed from 10 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday for lane-striping work at the freeway-to-freeway interchange.

The southbound Loop 303 ramp to the westbound I-10 will be closed from 10 p.m. on Friday to noon on Saturday for lane-striping work at the freeway-to-freeway interchange. The eastbound I-10 will also be narrowed to one lane near Citrus Road from 10 p.m. on Saturday to 3 a.m. on Sunday for pavement work.

Cactus Road will be closed in both directions at Interstate 17 from 9 p.m. on Friday to 2 p.m. on Saturday for the installation of a wrong-way vehicle detection system. The north- and southbound I-17 off-ramps at Cactus Road will also be closed.

Greenway Road will also be closed in both directions at the I-17 from 9 p.m. on Saturday to 2 p.m. on Sunday for the installation of a wrong-way vehicle detection system. The north- and southbound I-17 off-ramps at Greenway Road will also be closed.

We want to hear from you.
