Phoenix could see temperatures of 100 degrees this week

PHOENIX — October is officially here, but the summer temperatures in Phoenix are still lingering. Phoenix is expected to reach 100 degrees by Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures in the city will be in the 90s all week, but are expected to peak on Friday at 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the weather service said.

Monday’s high will be 94 degrees, while Tuesday will get a little bit hotter at 96 degrees. Both Wednesday and Thursday are expected to have a high of 98 degrees. The low temperatures for the week will range from the high 60s to the low 70s.
This is the second week in a row that Phoenix has seen an increase in temperatures. Last week, Phoenix saw highs of 98 degrees Fahrenheit and two weeks before that saw temperatures of 110 degrees — which tied the daily heat record.
Highs in Phoenix typically drop below 100 around Sept. 15. But the warmer weather for Phoenix could continue well into the winter. The National Weather Service said that Arizona residents should expect a dry, warm winter due to a moderate La Nina weather pattern.
