PHOENIX — In what will surely be the most adorable thing you’ve seen today, the Phoenix Zoo announced it has welcomed a female baby giraffe to its zoo.
Her mother, Sunshine, brought her first baby into the world on Tuesday, Sept. 12. It is Phoenix Zoo’s first giraffe calf in 12 years. The calf does not yet have a name.
The calf weighed approximately 150 ponds and will stay with Sunshine in an off-exhibit area in a barn until it is determined that she can be with other animals. That process will take a few weeks.
Sunshine first came to the Phoenix Zoo in 2014 and is four years old.
