PHOENIX — Meghan McCain, the daughter of U.S. Sen. John McCain of Arizona, is rumored to be heading to ABC’s “The View,” just days after announcing her departure from Fox News.
According to CNN, McCain is “in talks” to join the daytime commentary show, according to three people who are familiar with the matter. McCain did not respond to a request for comment from CNN and an ABC spokesperson declined to comment.
The deal to bring McCain on “has not yet been completed, but is in late stages,” according to CNN.
McCain, who has been interviewed on various KTAR News shows, announced on Friday that she was leaving her post as co-host on the Fox News Channel talk show “Outnumbered,” according to Variety.
In a statement, McCain said she was leaving Fox News to “focus on other things. I have no doubt the show will continue to do well and wish all my friends and colleagues at the network nothing but success.” She joined the network in 2015.

Her father, Sen. John McCain, tweeted praise shortly after the announcement, saying his wife Cindy and he “couldn’t be more proud of our daughter @MeghanMcCain & all that she has & will continue to accomplish!”

Jedediah Bila, a former co-host of “The View” who served as the program’s conservative voice, announced Monday she was leaving the show, but did not give a reason why.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Bila is “working on a book with HarperCollins and has numerous opportunities coming up.” If McCain is brought onto the show, she would essentially be taking over for Bila.
