Main Street Minute: Glendale health care campus giving out eclipse glasses

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.

Midwestern University in Glendale is giving away solar viewing glasses ahead of Monday’s eclipse. The university’s eye institute near 59th Avenue and Union Hills Drive has the glasses as well as tips how to safely view the eclipse.

• Arizona-based vegetarian restaurant chain Pita Jungle is celebrating the official grand opening of its Queen Creek location Wednesday. The new site is near Rittenhouse and Ellsworth roads. It’s the chain’s 19th Arizona location.

• A number of companies, including UPS, State Farm and Coder Camps are taking part in a job fair Wednesday in Phoenix. The event runs from 9 a.m. until 12:30 at the Embassy Suites Phoenix Biltmore near 24th Street and Camelback Road.
