PHOENIX — Those driving in Goodyear, Arizona, may have to plan for alternate routes for nearly a whole week starting Monday.
The Arizona Department of Transportation announced that Cotton Lane near Interstate 10 in Goodyear will be closed from 4 a.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Saturday.
Crews will be working to build the last phase of the Loop 303 and I-10 traffic interchange. To allow for the completion of paving and lane-striping work, Cotton Lane will be closed in both directions between McDowell Road and Van Buren Street.
A new stretch of north- and southbound Cotton Lane between McDowell Road and Van Buren Street is scheduled to open to traffic on Saturday.
If weather permits, Cotton Lane will start to operate as a frontage road.
To also help complete the $63.5 million project, the westbound I-10 ramp to northbound Loop 303 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday for bridge painting, and Van Buren Street will be closed between Sarival Avenue and Citrus Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday for pavement-marking work.
