Heavy rain scattered throughout edges of Valley Saturday morning

PHOENIX — Heavy rain hit areas at the edge of the Valley Saturday morning, with northwest Glendale and south of downtown Phoenix getting the most of it.
Beginning around 4:30 a.m., scattered showers and storms began to progress around Phoenix. The National Weather Service had a significant weather advisory for much of Phoenix until 5:30 a.m.
A flash flood warning was sent out for Maricopa County for a six-hour period until 2:45 p.m.
Heavy showers briefly hit the northwest portions of Glendale near the Loop 101 and 67th Avenue.
Maricopa County’s rain gauges had 0.43 inches of rain at the Loop 101 and Bell Road as of 9 a.m.
While central Phoenix and Scottsdale were mostly dry in the morning, areas south of Phoenix had as much as 0.83 inches of rain before 10 a.m.
