PHOENIX — Crews rescued a hiker off of Camelback Mountain who had gotten stuck in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
Phoenix Fire Capt. Larry Subervi said the 22-year-old woman had left the trail on the south side of the mountain and found herself in an extremely steep area.
Firefighters climbed to an area above the hiker and, using ropes, lowered a crew member down. The woman was placed into a harness and lowered to safety.
No injuries were reported.
The name of the hiker was not made available.
The Tempe Fire Department assisted in the rescue.
