PHOENIX — It seems numerous reports have come out that college degrees don’t mean as much as they used to, but at Arizona State University, getting schooled there still means a lot.

ASU was named ninth in the nation for graduate employability last year, meaning they are one of the best schools in the country at preparing graduates for jobs.

The Global University Employability Survey ranked ASU ahead of MIT, Columbia and UCLA.

“ASU’s academic rigor and distinctive programs prepare our graduates to excel at jobs across a wide range of disciplines,” said Mark Searle, executive vice president and university provost, on the Tempe school’s report.

“This ranking provides wonderful confirmation that our dedicated faculty are successfully educating students with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve in the workplace.”

Arizona State was the second-highest ranked public university, falling just behind the University of Florida at No. 8.

The full top-20 list is New York University, Harvard University, Princeton University, California Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Boston University, Yale University, University of Florida, Arizona State University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Columbia University, Johns Hopkins University, University of California Los Angeles, Duke University, Penn State University, North Carolina State University, Texas A&M University, University of Notre Dame, Boston College and the University of Virginia.
