Ancestry reveals the most common surname in Arizona

PHOENIX — A name can mean everything to a person. It’s what their reputation is built on.
If their surname is Smith, however, then it might not mean as much.
Smith is one of the most common surnames across the country, and Arizona is no exception. Ancestry revealed the three most popular surnames by each state, and Smith was one of the three most popular in 45 states.
In Arizona, the most popular surnames are Smith, Johnson and Garcia.
The most common across the nation besides Smith is Johnson, Miller, Jones, Williams and Anderson.
Hawaii is the only state with its own three names that aren’t common anywhere else with Lee, Wong and Kim.
