PHOENIX — A flash flood that swept through an Arizona swimming hole last weekend killed nine people and left one unaccounted for.
The 10th victim, Hector Garnica, has been found deceased, according to the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management.
On Wednesday, authorities found a body they believed to be of Garnica.
“A deceased individual has been located just below the confluence of Shoo Fly Creek and the East Verde River,” Gila County Sheriff J. Adam Shepard said in a statement.
They have now confirmed it is Garnica, who is one of 10 people dead from the flash flood that overran the Cold Springs swimming hole in the Tonto National Forest near Payson on Saturday.
Four others were rescued from the flood.
