PHOENIX — The only free-roam multi-player virtual reality gaming arena in the Western U.S. has a new game.
“We have the release of our brand new virtual reality game Singularity, at Velocity VR within Octane Raceway,” said JP Mullan, GM of Octane Raceway.
The mission? Investigate a secret military space station that has gone dark.
“We [also] have Zombie Survival which is a really fun six-person action game,” he said “This one takes it to the next level.”
“You put on your VR goggles and feel like you’re transported to a space station,” he said “You walk through, battle robots, drones and then even go through crazy elevators and bridges.”
Octane Raceway, off the 101 and Indian Bend and best known for fast go-karts, opened Velocity-VR in May.
“It’s around a [35 hundred] square foot room, actually cost us almost $800,000 between adding the game and adding all the infrastructure,” he said.
What is unique is the game allows up to six players to play at one time.
“When you’re actually walking in a game it feels like you’re actually moving,” he said. “There’s no glitches, there’s no wires.”
The game is about 45 minutes long and costs between $40 and $45.
