PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Transportation announced freeway restrictions on Interstates 10 and 17 for the weekend of July 21.

ADOT is advising travelers of the following closures and encourages drivers to take alternate routes:

•The westbound lanes of Interstate 10 will be narrowed to one lane at 59th Avenue from Sunday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m for bridge construction at the Loop 202. The westbound I-10 could be closed completely for brief periods during those overnight hours, as well. This same restriction will be in place from July 24 to 28.

•Just two lanes of the southbound Interstate 17 will be open between Dunlap Avenue and Bethany Home Road from Saturday at 7 p.m. to Sunday at 7 a.m. Crews will be working on overhead signage.
