PHOENIX — Golf putters manufactured in Phoenix were one of the featured items during the White House’s Made in America Week, a celebration of U.S.-made goods.
Ping brought two special putters. Each had a presidential seal and the signature of President Donald Trump lasered on to the surface.

Andrew Solheim, vice president of business development at Ping, said it was a treat to visit the White House.
“We were honored to be invited to the White House for the Made in America Product Showcase,” he said.
Solheim said seeing the combination of the history behind the White House and the hustle and bustle of the building was quite the experience.
“The history and honor of being in that building is kind of crazy to think about,” he said.
Solheim said Ping was stationed in the Red Room during the product showcase, along with a helicopter manufacturing company and another that makes horseshoe games.
Ping has made specialized putters for past presidents and has given the clubs as gifts to other world leaders.
“I wouldn’t say it’s a regular occurrence, but occasionally we have the opportunity where we’re asked to do that and we’re happy to do it,” Solheim said.
