Phoenix police looking for flasher, would-be robber

A man exposed himself to a teenage girl near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road and threatened to shoot her.

“A 16-year old-girl was walking across the CVS parking lot and the suspect drove up to her in a white pickup truck,” Phoenix Police detective Kim Neis said. “He exposed himself to her as he was sitting in the truck.”

It was Thursday, March 30, 2017 at about 8:45 a.m. The man in the truck told the girl he would shoot her if she didn’t walk closer to him.

“Luckily, she didn’t do that,” Neis said. “Instead, she ran away and told someone about it.”

The man was in an older model, white, two-door pickup pulling a black landscaping-type trailer.

Next, the same cameras that got pictures of a would-be criminal also foiled his attempted robbery.

“This was on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016 at about 7:30 at night,” Neis said.

A man walked into the QuikTrip at 67th Avenue and McDowell Road and told the clerk not to call police because he didn’t want to have to pull his gun. The clerk called another employee over and they told him he was on camera.

That spooked him. He took off without any cash and drove away in a black Ford Expedition with shiny rims.
