A chilling video is believed to show a flash flood in Payson from the same day of a flood at a swimming hole that has left at least nine dead.
The video, uploaded on a YouTube channel entitled Trent Shue, displays the frightening way in which the flood quickly descended upon a washed out river bed.
The cascading effect is shown and the sound of the water grows as it gets closer. Eventually, those filming and watching move backward as the water moves through with tremendous amounts of debris.
Eventually, the previously blank space is now a flowing river of wood and other debris. The river regains a somewhat normal look once the large chunks of debris made it initially through.
Water Wheel Fire and Medical District Fire Chief Ron Sattelmaier said more than a hundred people were in the Cold Springs swimming hole Saturday afternoon when a severe thunderstorm pounded down on a nearby remote area that had been burned over by a recent wildfire.
