PHOENIX — If you’re looking to beat the heat but still want a flavor of Mother Nature this weekend, you can head to the Arizona Get Outdoors Expo in Scottsdale.
The expo was scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at WestWorld of Scottsdale, located near Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and the Loop 101.
The event will feature a corn hole tournament (teams were required to register), a catch and release fishing pond, a rock climbing wall and more.
Attendees will be able to test their skills against one another in archery tag, a game that is similar to paintballing but is played with bows that shoot arrows with a padded tip.
There will also be a competition between members of the world-champion Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Team.
In addition, numerous vendors will be on hand looking to pair you with the latest in outdoor gear and tools.
Entry for adults is $8. Children 12 and under, along with military and first responders, get in free.
