Arizona State University appears on list of ‘best buy’ colleges

PHOENIX — The recent “Fiske Guide to Colleges 2018” gave a list of the “best buys” among both public and private U.S. colleges, and Arizona State University made the list.
“Parents and students are becoming increasingly cost-conscious, according to Edward Fiske,” CNBC wrote. “At the same time, parents know that if they’re going to pour lots of money into higher education, they want the best education possible.”
ASU, which is based in Tempe, Arizona, frequently prides itself on simultaneously being affordable and high-quality. The institution touts itself as “The New American University” and its charter says the school is “measured not by whom we exclude, but rather by whom we include and how they succeed.”
For the Fall 2017 semester, the full tuition and fees for an in-person, full-time undergraduate degree program at Arizona State is $5,396 for an in-state student, according to the school’s website. For a non-resident, the same program would cost $13,686.
CNBC wrote, “Arizona State University sets its tuition to be accessible to as many students as possible.”
Other schools on the “best buys” list included Brigham Young University, University of Washington, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Texas A&M and more.
