KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.
• The West Valley is the place to be to celebrate the Fourth of July on the cheap. Westgate Firework Fest kicks off at 5 p.m. on Tuesday with live music on two stages, a kids’ splash pad, face painting, grab-and-go dining deals from restaurants and more. The fireworks show starts at 9 p.m. Both admission and parking are free at the party near Loop 101 and Glendale avenues.
• A charter school in Phoenix has a number of job openings ahead of the upcoming school year. Paidea Academy near 16th Street and Baseline Road is looking for a music teacher, as well as six K-8 teachers and a paraprofessional. Applications are available online.
• A company that bills itself as an “incubator” for entrepreneurs with ideas for social change has moved. Seed Spot has set up shot in a renovated commercial suite in the downtown Phoenix warehouse district near Third and Jefferson streets.
