PHOENIX — Firefighters have made great progress on containing the Goodwin Fire near Prescott over the last few days.
Now at 53 percent containment, evacuated towns are letting people get back into their homes.
Two little ones without homes were facing danger from the Goodwin Fire, until Flagstaff Hotshots were able to save them, according to the United States Forest Service in Prescott.
The little ones without homes in question were fawns.
“While combating the Goodwin Fire Friday evening the Flagstaff Hotshots found two deer fawns in danger of being impacted by the flames,” U.S. Forest Service – Prescott National Forest said on its Facebook page. “The Hotshots carried the fawns out of harm’s way and transferred them to a nearby unaffected habitat so they could be reunited with their mother.”
The video below shows the wildfire fighters emerging from the flames all around them holding the two baby deer.
Thanks to the working crew, the fawns were able to escape the almost 26,000-acre wildfire safely.
