West Virginia has The Greenbrier.
Nevada has the Bellagio.
Wyoming has the Old Faithful Inn overlooking Yellowstone National Park’s most famous geyser.
When it comes to icons, the most famous hotels in each state certainly say a bit about their respective locations. Arizona is no different, and that’s why Thrillist named the Arizona Biltmore as the Grand Canyon State’s most iconic hotel.
Opened in 1929, the Biltmore was said to be a favorite of Marilyn Monroe, and why wouldn’t it be a celebrity hot spot with its views of the nearby mountains and gorgeous poolside amenities?
This place is so Arizona, it’s literally made of desert sand. No joke, when Frank Lloyd Wright consulted with his former student Albert Chase McArthur on the hotel’s design, they chose to construct it out of “Biltmore Blocks” made of hardened desert sand.
Here are a few views from the Arizona Biltmore.
