Interstates 10, 17 among Phoenix freeways to have weekend closures

PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Transportation has announced multiple freeway closures in the Phoenix area for the upcoming weekend.
ADOT released the travel advisory for the weekend of June 23 to June 25. Drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes and allow for extra travel time with these closures and restrictions:
•The I-10 westbound will be closed at 59th Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge constriction at the Loop 202 interchange. Westbound I-10’s on-ramps at 43rd Avenue and 51st Avenue will also be closed.
•Southbound I-17 will be closed from Dunlap Avenue to Bethany Home Road, starting 10 p.m. Friday, until 5 a.m. on Monday. Crews will be placing permanent lane striping and installing bridge fences. The I-17’s soundbound on-ramp at Peoria Avenue is also slated for closure. Northern Avenue will be narrowed to one lane in both directions at I-17.
•Near Anthem Way, I-17 will be closed intermittently for about 15 minutes at a time between 12:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Sunday for maintenance on APS power lines.
•The southbound Loop 303 ramp to the westbound I-10 freeway will be closed from Friday at 10 p.m. to Saturday at 7 a.m for work on an overhead sign.
•I-17’s traffic signals will be turned off at Deer Valley Road’s on- and off-ramps on Sunday from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. DPS Troopers will be directing traffic.
•The right lane of northbound I-17 will be closed from Bell Road to Union Hills Drive starting Friday at 9 p.m. and ending 9 a.m. on Saturday. Crews will be working on repair of a barrier wall. The off-ramp from northbound I-17 at Yorkshire Drive will also be closed.
