Main Street Minute: Car dealer donates bulletproof vest for Peoria Police K-9

• The Peoria Police Department recently received a bulletproof vest for its newest K-9, Hippie. Acura of Peoria donated the vest and now all four of the department’s police dogs have a vest.
• Several big hiring events are scheduled Tuesday, including near Sky Harbor Airport, where more than 40 employers want to fill more than 3,000 jobs. That event runs from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Hilton Phoenix Airport near 48th Street and University Drive. The Phoenix Engineering, Technology and Security Clearance career fair takes place at the Glendale Civic Center from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. along with a big nursing and career expo featuring hiring managers from leading health care providers, also from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Phoenix’s Arcadia neighborhood will be getting another restaurant. QSR magazine reported Guidepost 13 will open in the fall near 36th Street and Indian School Road. The new concept is being launched by the same team behind Native Grill and Wings.
