PHOENIX — The Phoenix Zoo said it is offering reduced summer pricing for visitors who are OK with seeing a little construction during their visit.
In a press release, the zoo said it would offer $5 off tickets for both adults and children through the end of August. Children under 3 get in free.

The discount is being offered as the zoo works through the summer to complete multiple improvements.
Once construction is completed, the zoo will boast a replica of a historic Phoenix bakery, an indoor seating area for the Savanna Grill and improved infrastructure for future expansion.
The indoor seating at Savanna Grill will seat about 200 guests and provide views of the savanna exhibit. The grill will be closed during the addition, but other nearby food stands will remain open.
The areas affected by construction are shown in the map below.
While the projects are underway, the zoo said some animals — such as the coyotes, fennec foxes and others that do not tolerate the noise well — will be kept away from visitors. They will return when the construction is over early next year.
Some exhibits will also have limited or restricted viewing. The zoo said some displays along the Arizona and Africa trails, specifically the lion and savanna habits, will have some obstructed viewpoints.
Other animals may be temporarily housed in different exhibits.
