A man with a gun went on a hate-filled tirade.

“The couple probably was just terrified,” says Phoenix Police Detective Kim Neis.

A couple was in a Lowe’s parking lot at Ray Road and Chandler Boulevard just after 1 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017. A man holding a gun approached them, yelling racial slurs.

“He not only yelled at them and pointed the gun at them, but he actually fired a round at them before driving away,” Neis said.

They described the vehicle as a dark-colored, newer model, quad-cab pick-up truck. It may have been a Chevy.

The big question is “Why?” because there was no argument or altercation leading up to the harassment.

Next, a burglary from a work truck was all caught on video. It happened on Dec. 23, 2016, at about 6:30 p.m. in a neighborhood near Seventh Street and Southern Avenue.

Neis said the suspect stole five chainsaws valued at about $4,000 from the truck, which was parked in the driveway of the victim’s home.

Thanks to video cameras, police know exactly what time it happened, how it happened and have a good picture of the suspect.

You can let police know you have a camera, then if there’s a crime in your area, they may contact you to see if your camera captured anything that will help solve it.
