At 365 million miles away from Earth, the chances of anyone ever taking a trip to Jupiter is probably not going to happen in anybody’s lifetime.
Thanks to the hard work of mathematician Gerald Eichstaedt and animator Sean Doran, the two were able to provide an incredible view of the planet. Eichstaedt spent 60 hours editing shots taken from NASA’s Junor spacecraft, while Doran spent another 12 hours smoothing over each frame for an aww-inspiring view.
Altogether both Eichstaedt and Doran poured through 2,400 frames that resulted in a wonderful tribute to the gas planet.
Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun and the largest in the solar system. It’s a gas planet along with Saturn and is one of the larger planets that include Uranus and Neptune.
