PHOENIX — Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman David Parry was sentenced to two years of probation for stealing a golf cart in Scottsdale while drunk.

The Maricopa County Superior Court said the sentence was part of a plea deal.

Parry was arrested in late February. Authorities said he and two others were picked up from a downtown Scottsdale bar by a golf cart driver, but when they were getting dropped off, Parry punched the driver, got into the vehicle and drove away.

Officers later found the golf cart crashed into an apartment gate and Parry a short distance away.

When Scottsdale Police Sgt. Ben Hoster was asked about the incident, he claimed the suspect “was belligerent” and “assaulted the officers.”

Body camera footage — which KTAR News decided not to post because of the amount of foul language — appeared to confirm some of Hoster’s account.

When officers tried to get Parry to understand they were there because of his actions, he started cursing at police and continued to do so for almost the entirety of the 12-minute video.

He told the officers repeatedly, “I’m going to come after all of you.” The footage did not show him physically assaulting the officers.

Parry pleaded not guilty to charges on robbery, auto theft, criminal damage, resisting arrest and DUI.

Police said the other two riders in the golf cart were not connected to the case.

The 24-year-old was selected in the fifth round (151st overall) by the Colts in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Stanford. He has played the last two seasons for Indianapolis, starting every game. He has tallied four sacks and 49 tackles in his career.

We want to hear from you.
