PHOENIX — A full-service maintenance, repair and overhaul operation will soon be available at a Mesa airport, a press release confirmed on Monday.
Constant Aviation will build an operation at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in Mesa later this year, the press release said. The facility will take up 74,486 total square feet of space and will create about 200 jobs, with an average salary of $60,000 per year.
In addition, the press release said Constant Aviation will be investing around $12.5 million over the next three years for the facility. The facility is Constant Aviation’s fifth in the nation.
Stephen Maiden, president and CEO of Constant Aviation, said the goal is to have the location up and running by the “third quarter of 2017.”
“We will be working diligently to identify and hire top talent, as well as secure all necessary equipment,” Maiden said in the press release.
In the press release, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey praised the move, which will further contribute to the state’s ranking as second in the nation for economic impact from aircraft MRO.
“Arizona’s excellent quality of life, friendly business climate, available pool of talented employees and lean regulatory environment continue to make it the location of choice for key players in the aviation industry,” Ducey said.
J. Brian O’Neill with the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority pointed to the move as one that solidifies the airport’s status as one of the “premier locations in the country for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul facilities.”
“As Constant Aviation’s newest West Coast operation, we are committed to providing high quality support services for their valued customers,” he said in the press release.
