May is National Burger Month and, in honor of America’s favorite sandwich, here are the top 10 burgers in the Valley and where to get them.
The Stand
Using all fresh ingredients and beef ground daily makes their handcrafted burger one of the best in Phoenix. With a convenient drive through, you can get one of these fabulous burgers on the go.
Don’t forget to add one of their famous shakes to your order!
Kitchen West
KW’s Smoked Brisket Burger is an absolute must-have. The brisket and burger combo — with thick-cut bacon, burnt tomato jam on a brioche bun — is pure genius and one of the most creative burgers I’ve ever consumed.
Kitchen West is located at the Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch.
The Attic
It’s not surprising the Ivan continues to make the best of list. One of the juiciest char-grilled burgers you have ever encountered on bakery-fresh pretzel bun served with crisp spring mix, tomato, onion and chipotle mayo and your choice of cheese.
Delux
Made with Niman Ranch (known for all-natural meats raised by small family farmers committed to sustainable and humane practices) beef, caramelized onion, Applewood smoked bacon, gruyere and Maytag bleu cheese with baby arugula on a demi baguette.
Bite by bite, the flavors of the Delux Burger seem to magically unfold and melt in your mouth.
The Chuckbox
This Arizona classic cooks their burgers over mesquite charcoal ,which is the main factor in this place’s distinctive taste.
Customizing my delicious burger with the many toppings in the rustic/dive environment makes the overall experience a favorite of mine.
Lucky Boy
This old-school joint has been around since 1951 and is serving up classic burgers that have a distinct taste from yesteryear.
Every person I have sent to Lucky Boy have not only loved it but say it tastes like their childhood. Is their secret sauce nostalgia?
True Food
The turkey burger with smashed avocado, tomato, smoked gouda and jalapeño remoulade on a flax seed bun is anything but dull. It is one of the tastiest burgers (turkey or non-turkey) I’ve ever encountered.
They have not only perfected the flavoring but have kept it juicy. My meat-loving dad is even a fan!
Ingo
My vegetarian friends kept raving about the black bean burger and I finally had to try it for myself.
It’s freaking delicious. With cashews, poblano peppers, lettuce, tomato, pickle and house-made vegan nut cheese, this is hands down the best plant burger around!
Paradise Valley Burger Company
Found under the specialty burgers category on the menu, the Burger Brulee comes with a fried egg, bacon, onion, burnt sugar and Havarti cheese.
I’m not ashamed to say I consumed dozens of these mouthwatering delights during my pregnancy and many more since.
Original Hamburger Works
This “dive” serves up mesquite-broiled hamburgers cooked over an open flame that you can see in plain view as you order. Half the fun is loading your burger up with condiments at the fixings wagon!
