Trump’s first 100 days a show of perseverance in face of Obama-led opposition

Saturday marks President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office and, as expected, the main stream media and the left cannot wait to claim it as a dismal failure.

But what this date also marks is former President Barack Obama’s rise as the anti-president and his first 100 days as leader of the opposition, who sadly is enjoying some unreported success.

Back in January, Trump laid out some very lofty goals, but unfortunately for his agenda, so did the left. From recounts to Russia, opposition was the name of the game in Washington, D.C. and the new clarion call from the Democrats was, “Resist!”

As our newly sworn in president set about to make America great again, the former president — encouraged by his wife, Michelle, and his close friend and adviser, Valerie Jarrett — assumed the role as leader of the resistance and protector of his legacy.

Is it a coincidence that the Obamas took up residency in D.C. rather than returning to their home in Chicago? I think not.

The Obama administration and the left were on the verge of pushing America over the precipice and into their socialist utopia when Trump, a man with no ties to Washington insiders, came along. He promised the American people that he would stand up for them, be their voice and give them their country back.

Then, the unthinkable happened. Trump actually won the presidency, snatching victory from the elites in a surprising upset and ruining the Washington insiders’ plans. Obama and the left absolutely were not going to stand for that.

Obama, poised to use his popularity among the millions of Americans that identify as liberals and progressives, sprang into action. He wanted to create the image that Trump’s presidency was illegitimate, hoping to inflame his base into action.

Enter the main stream media — propagators of the opposition and lap dogs to the left — who welcomed the new administration by giving it the most hostile media coverage of any incoming American president. The media knew their role was to discredit Trump in the eyes of the American people and make the case that Trump is an illegitimate president.

Thankfully, in spite of all the craziness and opposition stirred up by Obama, former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and investor George Soros, Trump has still been able to accomplish a great deal of good for the American people within his first 100 days.

He has reversed many of Obama’s legacies that were harmful to our country. Trump also fulfilled campaign promises and kept persevering in the face of perpetual opposition to undermine his presidency.

Regardless of the efforts to take Trump down, he is still winning in the eyes of the American people — 96 percent of those that voted for him in November stating they would do so again.

It seems Americans are in this for the long haul and not as concerned about his first 100 days as the media wants to make us believe we are or should be.

Maybe they should report on what Trump has accomplished and it could shed some fair and balanced light on why Trump had a more difficult time achieving the goals he set out to accomplish for the American people.

I may be wrong, but I think that even God, who created heaven and Earth in seven days, would need more than 100 days to turn America around when left with Obama’s legacy and faced with such hostility and blatant resistance.

We asked for a leader to get things done not perform miracles. Let’s leave those to God.
