PHOENIX — You read that headline right: Indiana Jones is not through with his silver screen adventures quite yet.

The official “Star Wars” website — Disney owns the film rights to both the space odyssey and “Indiana Jones” — said Tuesday that the fifth installment in the adventure series would be released on July 10, 2020.

The film will feature some familiar faces. Steven Spielberg will direct the film and actor Harrison Ford will reprise his starring role as the professor who moonlights as a daring archaeologist, especially now that he has “Star Wars” off his plate.

Erm, spoiler alert?

Anyway, the plot of the new Jones movie is still in the dark.

The last “Indiana Jones” film was 2008’s poorly received “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” that also starred Shia LaBeouf. Rumors abounded that the young actor would take over the franchise, though that idea appears to have been snuffed out.

Prior to the alien-filled mess (erm, another spoiler alert) that was “Crystal Skull,” the adventure series won seven Academy Awards and grossed hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office.

“Indiana Jones” was also transformed into a television show that ran for four years, numerous book series and a toy line. The franchise is also the focus of a ride at Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
