PHOENIX — Arizona violinist Lindsey Stirling has been nominated for two Billboard Music Awards, she announced on social media on Monday.

In a Facebook post, Stirling wrote she is up for awards in the top electronic dance artist and top electronic dance album categories.

“Incredibly honored to be included with such a talented group of artists,” she wrote in the post.

Stirling released her latest album, “Brave Enough,” in August. It debuted in the top spot on Billboard’s top U.S. electronic and dance album chart and No. 5 on Billboard’s Top 200 list.

She won a Billboard award in 2015 for her second album, “Shatter Me.”

Stirling was first introduced to the masses after her appearance on the reality TV show “America’s Got Talent” in 2010.

The California-born, Arizona-raised artist enjoyed a healthy amount of success last year. She performed with legendary singer Celine Dion at the Billboard Music Awards and played the national anthem prior to the San Francisco 49ers’ Monday Night Football game.

She also created the feature song and contributed to the score for Disney’s “Pete the Dragon” film that was released in August.

Stirling will have to wait a few weeks to find out if she won another Billboard Music Award. The awards show is scheduled to air on May 21.

We want to hear from you.
