PHOENIX — Two Maricopa County Sheriff’s detention officers were injured early Friday when the transport van they were in collided with a car in downtown Phoenix.
A spokesman for the department said the officers’ injuries weren’t life-threatening, but the officer in the passenger seat had a serious head wound.
The driver of the sedan suffered minor injuries.
Hoping for the best outcome with officers involved in this accident. Injuries are serious due to transport van rolling over serval times. https://t.co/geOc6n6aHG

The officers had just dropped off prisoners at the county jail, near Fourth Avenue and Madison Street. The transport van ended up overturned in the intersection, while the car jumped a curb and came to halt near a railroad crossing sign.
