PHOENIX — Good news for those who like to take in the beautiful views in northern Arizona without strapping on skis or a snowboard: Arizona Snowbowl is now offering a scenic chairlift ride.

Arizona Snowbowl will open its “high-speed six-person chairlift” called the Grand Canyon Express on Saturday and will keep rides going until March 26.

But yes, you do have to commit to leaving the skis and snowboard behind.

Each individual ride will cost $19, but a $29 package includes unlimited, round-trip rides and a $15 gift card for same-day food, bar or retail purchases at the Arizona Snowbowl.

Riders who are under the age of 7 will ride free, with an adult, and can take in the “exquisite panoramic views” that include the Grand Canyon.

Plans for the new, larger chairlift were announced in March 2016. Since then, Arizona Snowbowl has also brought on a new, adorable partner: A golden retriever puppy who is training to become an avalanche dog.

We want to hear from you.
