PHOENIX — A Tempe-based company, Detours, announced an exclusive guided day tour to the Verde Valley and the historic mining town of Jerome.

Beginning approximately at 6:45 a.m., the tour to Verde Valley departs from most hotels in the Phoenix and Scottsdale area and travels to Jerome, the Arizona Copper Art Museum and then the Verde Canyon Railroad.

Detours, established in 2001, provides luxury-style tour buses that seat up to 10-13 people.

According to the Detours website, starting package prices begin at $235 per person, which include pickup and drop off,  lunch and appetizers, unlimited bottled water, first-class seats on the railroad and entrance to the museum.

“There are so many places you won’t find on your own Google Maps,” said owner Jeff Slade in a press release. “The 20 miles of railroad track between Clarkdale and Perkinsville are rich with history and wildlife, and our guides offer the knowledge and stories to give you the best experience possible.”

In 2013, Lonely Planet ranked Verde Valley in the top 10 travel destinations in the U.S.

Verde Valley is less than two hours north of downtown Phoenix on Interstate 17.

Departure days for the tour are on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The tour ends at approximately 7 p.m.
