• An East Valley doughnut shop will donate 20 percent of the proceeds from a special treats Monday in honor of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Daylight Donuts in Mesa is participating in the day that has been set aside to honor officers killed in the line of duty. Partial sales from Daylight’s Thin Blue Line treats will go to the Arizona chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors. The nonprofit helps to rebuild the lives of fallen officers families and co-workers. The shop is near Guadalupe and Alma School roads.

Ahipoki Bowl is expanding its presence in the Valley. The Phoenix Business Journal reports the California-based seafood joint will open a site near Seventh Avenue and McDowell Road next month, before setting up shop in downtown Phoenix in late spring. The chain already has shops in Chandler and Scottsdale.
