The on-demand car service company has a new partner in preventing crime this holiday season.
Uber announced that the company has teamed up with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office in order to reduce DUI’s.
Not only has Uber provided various promotion codes to non-members and members to reduce the cost of rides, but the company has also stated it will donate $5 to the Arizona chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving for every single ride.
The emergence of Uber has already made a large impact on the amount of DUI’s in the state. According to the company, the annual DUI rate has decreased by nearly 23 percent since the Phoenix launch back in 2012.
